Research overview
About Tesamorelin
Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino acid peptide analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) with a trans-3-hexenoyl modification at the N-terminus for increased stability and potency.
It stimulates the pituitary gland to release endogenous growth hormone (GH) in a pulsatile manner. In research models, Tesamorelin is studied for its ability to reduce visceral adipose tissue (abdominal fat), improve body composition, and support metabolic health while maintaining a more physiological GH release profile compared to direct GH administration.
Key Research Areas
- Growth hormone stimulation and pulsatile release
- Visceral fat reduction and body composition
- Metabolic regulation and lipid metabolism
- Anti-aging and longevity models
- HIV-associated lipodystrophy and endocrine studies
