Research overview
Glutathione (GSH) is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine. It is the body’s primary endogenous antioxidant and plays a central role in cellular defense.
In research settings, Glutathione is studied for its ability to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS), regenerate other antioxidants (such as vitamins C and E), support Phase II detoxification pathways in the liver, maintain cellular redox balance, and modulate immune function.
